Report an image
If there is an image of a child in Lekker Braai, or any image of you that you want taken down, this is the fastest way to reach a person about it.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police first. In South Africa: 10111. The Childline South Africa helpline is 116, free from any phone. Please also tell us, so we can remove the material and preserve what the authorities may need.
Report it here
Email takedown@lekkerbraai.app. This address is monitored by a member of WebNest Creations LLC. We do not name an individual here, and a report does not need to reach a particular person to be acted on.
What to include
- A link, or the name of the braai and roughly when the photo was added.
- Which image, if there are several — a short description is enough.
- Why you are reporting it: an image of a child, an image of you that you did not agree to, or something else.
- How we can reach you. You may report anonymously, but then we cannot tell you what we did.
Please do not attach the image itself. We do not need a copy to find it, and sending one spreads it further.
What happens, and how fast
We acknowledge every report within 72 hours.
- We take it out of circulation first. A reported image stops being served to anybody while we look at it. We do not leave it up while we decide.
- A person reviews it. a member of WebNest Creations LLC looks at the report. There is no automated decision here and no appeal to a machine.
- We act. If it should not be there, it is deleted from storage and from the album, and the account that uploaded it is dealt with — which, for images of children, means removal and a report to the relevant authority.
- We tell you. If you left us a way to reply, we tell you what we did.
Images of children
Lekker Braai is for adults. The app asks you to confirm you are 18 or older, and photographs of children have no reason to be in it.
Any report concerning a child is treated as the most serious kind of report we receive. We remove the material, we preserve what is needed for a lawful investigation, and we report child sexual abuse material to the South African Police Service and to the relevant hotline. We do not require you to prove a relationship to the child before we act.
If it is a photo of you
You do not have to explain yourself. Tell us which image and we will remove it. If you are in it and did not agree to it being shared, that is sufficient reason, and we will not ask the person who uploaded it to approve your request.
Copyright
If an image infringes your copyright, email the same address with the work concerned, where it appears in the app, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner. We will remove it and tell the uploader why.
If we get it wrong
If we removed something of yours and you believe we should not have, reply to the message we sent you, or write to takedown@lekkerbraai.app and say so. A person will look again. We would rather remove something in error and put it back than leave something up that should not be there.
A note on what we cannot see
Braai albums are private. We do not browse them, we do not scan them, and we do not run recognition over them — which is deliberate, and explained in the privacy policy. The consequence is that we rely on reports. If you see something, this page is how it reaches us.
